Fuel Technology speaks at the Future Cement Initiative Conference in Saudi Arabia
From 7 to 9 September, Fuel Technology took part in the 2nd Annual Conference of the Future Cement Initiative, “From Data to Net Zero: AI-Driven Innovation for a Sustainable Saudi Cement Sector”, hosted by King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Thuwal, Saudi Arabia. The conference was held under the patronage of the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the National Committee for Cement Companies. It brought together the leadership of the Saudi cement industry, researchers, policymakers and technology providers.
Our General Manager, Boris Sassenrath, gave a talk on decarbonisation enablers. He explained how alternative fuels, together with reliable storage, handling and dosing systems, help cement plants reduce CO₂ emissions and fossil fuel costs.
Saudi Arabia aims to reach net zero by 2060, and its cement sector is preparing for a significant transformation. We thank KAUST and the organisers for the invitation and look forward to contributing to this process.
